Congratulations!

District honors several high school music students

Nine Walled Lake Schools’ students performed in the elite Michigan Band and Orchestra All-State Band and Orchestra at the Michigan Music Conference in Grand Rapids recently...The following nine students performed with the ELITE All-State Bands and Orchestras: Pujan Bhattarai, trumpet, and Kyle Krause, viola, both from Walled Lake Western High School...

The Board also honored 10 students who are receiving accolades at the Michigan Youth Arts Festival...and the percussion quartet of Walled Lake Western High School students following small ensembles have been nominated to perform at the Festival: Logan Smith, Colin Mudie, Brandon Christie, and Matt Genesco, will also be honored at the Michigan Youth Arts Festival.

Congratulations to the members of the percussion quartet (Brandon Christie, Logan Smith, Matt Genesco and Colin Mudie) who were one of only five percussion ensembles in the State of Michigan to be nominated to perform at the Michigan Youth Arts Festival on the campus of Western Michigan University in May.

Congratulations to Pujan Bhattarai (trumpet) for his selection to the MSBOA All-State Band which will perform at the Michigan Music Conference on January 21 in Grand Rapids.

Congratulations to Logan Smith (percussion), Colin Mudie (percussion), and Samuel Bloom (trombone) on their selection to the MSBOA Disctict 4 All-District Band which will perform on January 7 at Clarkston High School.

SCRIP TIME

WLWBB is again accepting scrip orders! A great idea for Teachers gifts, Graduate gifts and Father’s Day.

Please review the information sheet on the scrip program.  Once you have compiled your order, you must send them to Edie Fitzpatrick at fitzveros@yahoo.com.  

Orders for this month will be due by Wednesday, May 16th at 10 AM and will be back at the Band Spring Concert on May 24th.   Please let us know where to deposit the additional funds - a specific student account, or the general fund. Any questions regarding the scrip program should be directed to Edie.
